EtsyKids: EtsyKids Design Challenge for March: Vote now!

All the entries are in, and wow, are they ever cute and springy!! It kind of makes up for the fact that it snowed here in Maine today. At least it was just a few flurries, and it's supposed to be sunny again tomorrow. Check out all of the entries and vote here:

EtsyKids Meet & Greet: tonight at 9:00pm EST

One of the great things about buying handmade is that personal touch that you just don't get when buying mass-produced from big box stores. It's so refreshing to be able to connect with the very person who made the items you are purchasing with their own two hands. It's this thought that led me to the idea of having a Meet & Greet chat with members of the EtsyKids Team. So tonight we will be having our first Meet & Greet in the Virtual Labs. I'm excited about starting these, as I think it will be a great way for people to get to know some of the many talented makers of all the fantastic items for babies, toddlers, and children on Etsy. All are welcome to come by and chat with us tonight! Here's the details:

When: Wednesday, March 18th at 9:00pm Eastern

Where: the Gallery room of Etsy's Virtual Labs

Hosted by: The Clever Kitty

Hope to see you there!

PS: I snagged a treasury to celebrate! Check it out now before it expires on March 21st: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=46565

More Mandalas!

About a month ago, I started drawing mandalas again, and have really been enjoying it! I decided to try doing some in color, and was so pleased with how they turned out, I decided to make some note cards for my Etsy shop:

Each note card is like a mini work of art, and is drawn entirely free hand. I'm really having fun with these, and hope to add more soon. I've also started adding to my Etsy shop some of the embroidered felt mandala pendants that I had previously mentioned too.

I'm so happy to be making some new and different things. And each new idea I get leads me to more new ideas, and more new directions to delve into.
I'm really feeling inspired to create, and I can't wait to see what will come next!

Spring!

My daffodils are just beginning to pop up out of the ground, and though it will be awhile before they're up and blooming, it's definitely a sign that spring is near! Hurrah!

Spring is a time of new growth, and I've really been trying to grow some new ideas lately. And now the EtsyKids Team is having a monthly design challenge, which I'm sure will inspire me to expand my horizons and create new things. March's challenge is 'Spring', and to me nothing says spring like daffodils, tulips, and crocus!

I had almost forgotten how much I enjoyed hand-stitching until I started making my new felt mandala pendants. Ever since I started making those, I've been obsessed with hand-stitching again! So I decided to make these little flower hair clips for the EtsyKids Spring Design Challenge. I love the way they came out, and had so much fun making them, I can't wait to make some more!
